Ibrahim Kpotum Idris appointed as new Inspector General of Police
President Muhammadu Buhari is set to announce a former Kano State Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris as the new acting Inspector General of Police, reports Sahara Reporters.
Until his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, Idris served as Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of federal operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Idris will replace Solomon Arase, who retires from the police force today, June 21 2016.
The President, according to the report, is currently meeting with the new IGP for a presidential briefing.
Official statement is being awaited as to replacement.
