See The Conditions Senate Set For Screening Ministerial Nominees
On Thursday, the criteria adopted by Senators for screening of the 21 minister-nominees forwarded to the chamber by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The criteria provides that the nominees must present evidence of Code of Conduct clearance and also secure the backing of at least two senators from their states of origin.
Dino Melaye, the Senate spokes person said that the Senate met behind closed doors, on Thursday, and came out with set criteria for the screening and confirmation of the 21 minister-nominees last week by President Buhari to the Senate, adding that the screening would be broadcast live from Tuesday to Thursday next week.
He said that the requirements set by the senators were drawn from the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
