Reports from Ekiti have it that seven members of Ekiti State House of Assembly backed by well armed policemen on Monday morning impeached the speaker of the state house of Assembly, Adewale Omirin.
According to reports, the lawmakers were escorted into the state assembly complex by Mobile Police Commander, Selenkere Michael.
The police prevented 19 others including the substantive speaker from entering the assembly complex earlier today. Hon. Olugbemi, was purportedly “elected” by the seven-man house as speaker.
Ten Ekiti lawmakers appointed Protem Speaker to approve the commissioner nominees of Governor Ayodele Fayose. They also approved the list of caretaker committees for the local government areas.
