Chelsea are close to finalising a £23.3m deal to sign Fiorentina’s 26-year-old winger Juan Cuadrado.
The Colombian has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League leaders and the clubs are concluding the final details of the move.
The total fee, with add-ons, could eventually be £26.8m – a figure that matches Cuadrado’s release clause.
Winger Mohamed Salah, 22, is likely to go on loan to Fiorentina as part of the deal but is yet to decide on the move.
If discussions conclude swiftly, Cuadrado – who starred in last summer’s World Cup – could arrive in London for a medical on Friday.
His imminent arrival also means 24-year-old German forward Andre Schurrle is almost certain to leave before Monday’s transfer deadline.
German club Wolfsburg have opened discussions on a potential £22m deal.
