Mexico Defeat Cameroon To Go Second In Group A

Mexico-vs.-Cameroon-720x350

Mexico have defeated the indomitable Lions of Camoroon 1-0 in the second match of the 2014 World Cup to go second behind Brazil in Group A.

Mexico came into the match having won just 1 of their last 7 matches at the world Cup. They started like a house on fire and dominated the African Lions in the early exchanges. Giovani Dos Santos had the ball in the net twice but both were disallowed for off-side as the first half ended goalless.

The Mexicans began the second half like they ended the first and were soon rewarded when Peralta pocked home for his 17th international goals in the 61st minute. Cameroon improved afterwards and responded with waves of attacks but Mexico were resolute and always looked dangerous on the counter attack.

The Lions pushed forward for the equalizer but were denied by the resolute Mexican goalkeeper. Javier Hernandez had a big chance to seal the win for Mexico but could only blow over from close range as Mexico held on for a narrow victory.
