Yakubu Aiyegbeni becomes highest earning Nigerian Player, Over takes Mikel Obi

A new report by Supersport has shown that Mikel Obi is not the nation’s richest football star as formerly claimed.

The Chelsea man is number three on the list and suprisingly it is estimated that Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Kalu Uche are the two richest footballers from Nigeria.

The report claims that both players’ contracts at oil-rich Quatari club Al Rayyan gave them $2.5 million each year.

Mikel Obi is next on the list, with Obafemi Martins fourth, both earning $2 million per year.
