Sani Kaita’s experience crucial to Gabros’ continental ticket chase

The Anambra Warriors head coach has explained the reason behind the acquisition of the former Super Eagles midfielder after the player completed his switch to the Nnewi side

Gabros FC head coach Mitko Dobrev has told Goal that Sani Kaita  will help them realize their ambition of securing a continental ticket at the end of the season after the former Alania Vladikavkaz of Russia player completed his first training session with the club on Monday.

Kaita was a tug of war between the Ifeanyi Ubah-owned Gabros International and Enugu Rangers before the player settled for the Nnewi side after he was personally spoken to by the owner of the club and the hospitality displayed by the officials of the club.

Dobrev told Goal that he was convinced that Gabros made the right decision to add the former Super Eagles midfielder to the team’s array of stars and that they deemed it fit to acquire his services so that they could add to the retinue of experienced players in their rank as they intensify their chase of a place on the continent at the end of the season.

“We have said we want to break into the top four in the league at the end of the season and we are serious about this,” Dobrev told Goal.

“I am happy to welcome Kaita to our club and I am very sure his stay with our club will be fantastic. We made it our target to compete with the very best but we can’t achieve this without experienced players and it is the reason we have signed Chibuzor Okonkwo, Brendan Ogbu and now Sani Kaita.”

He continued: “We are pleased with Kaita and we know that his wealth of experience will be crucial to our target of qualifying for the continent. We want to reciprocate the good gesture of the owner of the club and the only way to do that is to continue to do well in the league and in the Federation Cup.”

The Bulgarian also lauded the professionalism of Kaita who completed the first day training session with his team mates despite only arriving Nnewi barely an hour to training. He added that he was surprised at the former Eagles’ anchorman’s commitment and attitude to work.

Goal was also reliably told that Kaita had his first full training session with Gabros FC on Tuesday morning and that he was the cynosure of all eyes at the practice session had under the supervision of coach Dobrev and his assistant coaches.
