Ex-international Henry Nwosu has been left disappointed over Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
Nigeria could only manage a 2-2 draw against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Uyo stadium, finishing in the group as the third best team, while Congo qualified in second.
Nwosu who represented Nigeria in the late 80’s, blamed the Super Eagles players for the poor showing against South Africa.
Arguing that the team had no excuse not winning the game on home soil.
“Honestly, I don’t understand how South Africa could have beaten Nigeria on home soil. I didn’t believe Eagles could play that bad; they were terrible,” Nwosu told The Punch.
“I know many people will be calling for a team overhaul and the resignation of coach Stephen Keshi, but I’ll advise that we shouldn’t be too hasty to take such decisions. Recent development in our football has taught us many lessons so we should learn how to move on and focus on how to improve the team.”
