The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nigeria’s main opposition party, General Muhammadu Buhari, has pledged to remove favouritism  when awarding government contracts if he is elected as President, VON reports.

He made the pledge through the Director of Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mallam Garba Shehu at a Press brief in Abuja.
He said Government contracts would be given to only competent hands and there would be a check and balance system to ensure the contract is carried out.
The Presidential candidate also promised to block all channels of waste in government and be hard on corruption.
“His government will not be one that will condone waste and no corrupt person will be in his government,” Shehu said.
General Buhari pledged to lead by example.
“Mrs Buhari,  as First Lady will not be in the habit of having agents in MDAS for the purpose of collecting kickbacks and gratification for her, this is one of the ways he intends to lead by example” Shehu added.
General Buhari said security, fight against corruption, the economy and job creation would be the major focus of his government.
Nigeria’s Presidential election is 17days away and the APC Presidential Candidate said he would spend the remaining days on major regional campaigns across across the country.
