BREAKING NEWS: BOMB SHATTERS ABUJA MOTOR PARK
It was a dark Monday morning for residents of Abuja as they woke up to witness the senseless bombing of Nyanya Motor Park. Nyanya is a satellite town bordering the FCT and Nasarawa State.
The explosion reportedly occurred in a section where vehicles plying Abuja-Ilorin-Kabba were parked.
Dozens of people have been confirmed dead as the blast ripped human flesh and bones apart while setting scores of buses on fire. As at the time of this report men of the National Emergency Agency (NEMA) have been evacuating the dead. The Fire Services have also been on ground to put out the flames while the Police and security agents have been at the scene of the incident to also provide support and commence investigations.
The dawn bombing has led to a disruption of movement in and out of Abuja from the Nyanya axis as many workers, most of who live outside the city centre have been stranded and thus unable to get to their offices.
Reports monitored on BBC indicate that this recent blast is suspected to be the handiwork of the deadly Boko Haram sect that has been prosecuting a reign of terror in parts of Northern Nigeria.
