Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital media and convergence technology, is tightening its grip on the global Smartphone market having expanded its Galaxy S series with the introduction of the much anticipated Galaxy S5.
According to Strategic Analytics, Samsung shipped a record 86 million Smartphone worldwide during the fourth quarter of 2013, further boosting its stakes of the worldwide market as Apple’s share fell over the same period.
The company has also introduced the NX30 smart camera – a professionally inspired compact device, to the Nigerian market. The new Samsung Galaxy S5 which is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core processor boasting a 5.1-inch super amole display.
The new Samsung Galaxy S5 is upgraded with a 16-megapixel camera, new fitness tracking features, a heart rate scanner and is dust and water (IP67) resistant. The device also highlights a new fingerprint scanner, a unique feature that is integrated with the device’s home button providing the consumers with security and biometric screen-locking feature. However, the camera NX30 is a high-performance device featuring wireless network connectivity that compatibly embodies style and functionality.
The NX30 camera raises the bar for compact system cameras all over the world boasting outstanding imaging performance. The device is built on 20.3 megapixel sensor; the NX30 camera is capable of capturing high-definition images with sharp life-like colours that are clear in lighting conditions.
Brovo Kim, managing director, Samsung Electronics, said the Samsung Galaxy S5 device will be made available to the West African market at a Galaxy S5 Premier event scheduled to hold in Lagos in April. He said Samsung has been consistent in carrying out researches aimed at giving optimum satisfaction to the customers, noting that the new Galaxy S5 features five distinctive technical characteristics that makes its absolutely different from other Galaxy series.
He further noted that not only does the NX30 camera deliver incredible speed and accuracy through advanced video and photographic features, it is truly built around the user, with upgraded smart camera functionality making shooting and sharing seamless,” he said.
