Rooney to miss out on Champions League action against PSV

wayne-rooney-michael-carrick-man-united_3326170Manchester United’ Skipper Wayne Rooney has been ruled out of Manchester United’s Champions League game at PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday due to a hamstring injury, one he picked up at training after he returned from International duties; the Premier League Club reported on Monday.

Though Manager LVG told reporters during an interview that the injury was not a serious one, it would be very important not to take chances on that.

Rooney sat out Saturday’s 3-1 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford.

United manager Louis Van Gaal had also said over the weekend that Rooney was likely to miss the Champions League tie, but that he expected his captain to be fit in time for Sunday’s visit to Southampton in the Premier League.

Also likely to join the traveling team to Netherlands will be youngster Striker James Wilson who has had series of speculation about his future at the club.
