Missing $20bn: Forensic Report Indicts NNPC

The forensic audit conducted by the audit firm, PriceWaterHouseCoopers on the operations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company has indicted both organisations.

In the highlights of the report released by the Auditor General of the federation, Mr. Samuel Ukura on Thursday, the accounting firm as part of its recommendations asked both organisations to refund about $1.48billion to the Federation Account for various unreconciled transactions.

It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan had on Monday received the report of the audit carried out last year after former CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido alleged that a sum of $20bn was not remitted to the federation account by the NNPC.
