Leicester give fans free beer ahead of Manchester City clash in toast to 2015
Leicester fans were able to toast a memorable 2015 with a free beer on arrival at the stadium of Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw with Manchester City.
The Foxes’ Thai owners arranged for partner Singha Beer to provide a bottle for each fan as a thank you for their support during a year which began with the club adrift at the bottom of the Premier League but now challenging at the top.
In his programme notes ahead of the match, vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: ‘There has been so many highlights from 2015 – the amazing escape last season, the fantastic start to this one, club records broken, Premier League records broken and moments that will live with us all for a long time.
Like Vardy, Riyad Mahrez has enjoyed a stellar term as the Foxes sit one point below league leaders Arsenal
‘You have been a huge part of it and Leicester City heads into 2016 in better shape than it has ever been.
‘As a thank you for the role you have played in such a great year, our friends at Singha Beer will be buying the first round tonight. Enjoy it, you’ve all earned it!’
Water was available for supporters under 18 years old.
