A new Board of Directors has been inaugurated for the Kwara Football Academy Limited.
A statement on Wednesday by the Head of Corporate Affairs, Harmony Holdings Ltd, Mr. Tunde Abodunde said the development was part of strategies to enhance the capacity of the KFA as a world class academic and sport institution.
He stated that the board of directors of Harmony Holdings Ltd (the investments holding company of Kwara State Government), constituted the new board of directors for the Academy.
Abodunde stated that the new board members were carefully selected with consideration for value addition to the academy. He added that the members are Alhaji Hamzat Balogun, (Chairman); Mr. Thompson Oladimeji; Otunba Adebayo Sanni; Mr. Dare Akanbi; Alhaji Ladi Hassan, and Mr. Mutiu Adepoju (MON), who is the Chief Executive Officer of the academy.
Abodunde described Balogun as an avid football enthusiast and astute manager of men.
“The constitution of the new Board seeks to strengthen the next level of business at the Academy using football as the medium of empowerment. The KFA provides football training, secondary level education and a chance for placement with international football clubs for youths.
“It sets the stage for Kwara State to become the ultimate centre for future development of football in Nigeria,” Abodunde said.
