Kano Agency raises concern over cable vandalism, reiterates commitment to legal action

The Kano State Metropolitan Agency (KASMA) has expressed concern over the incessant damage on street light poles and cables by residents and motorists in the state.

Director General of the Agency  Hadiza Ahmad-Tukur stated this while responding to reported cases of vandalism at Kwanar Dala and Gwarzo Road in Kano Metropolitan.

The case involved one Haruna Saleh-Shuaibu and Alkasim Umar, residents of Rimin Gata.

This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen by the Public Relations Officer of the Agency, Usman Abdullahi on Sunday in Kano.

The statement said the suspects, accused of cable vandalism at Gwarzo Road, had been apprended and handed over to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police command for further investigation.

“The state government has zero tolerance for vandalism,” she said in the statement.

Ahmad-Tukur warned those involved in such act to desist from it as the state government would prosecute anyone involved vandalising public facilities.

She expressed the state government’s commitment to procure more infrastructure, to improve security and socio economic development in the state.
