The total investments of Indian companies in Nigerian economy have reached a record high of $15 billion according to India’s High Commissioner to the country, Abhay Thakur.
Speaking at the launch of a new showroom by Simba Group and TVS Company in Abuja, the Indian commissioner noted that the Indian companies had employed 35,000 people in Lagos State alone.
The Commissioner revealed that economic relations between Nigeria and India would not stop even as the world most populous black nation had benefited immensely from Simba Group.
Stating his achievements, Managing Director, Simba Group, Vineh Grover stated that his company had trained 500 people in riding motorcycles.
Tayo Alasoadura, the immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, now Nigeria’s new Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs asked Simba Group to create more opportunities for its citizens. He promised to make business easier for anyone willing to empower Nigerians through job creation.

“On behalf of the Federal Government, I invite the Simba Group to come and set up factories in Nigeria, so that you can give to us what you do in India and we can replicate it and give to our people.
“I believe that in the whole of Africa, Nigeria will be your biggest market. You should come down to Nigeria and start manufacturing your products. We have the manpower and land.”
Alasoadura also noted that Nigeria’s electricity was improving and investment in Nigeria would pay India greatly.
“Our electricity is improving. You can do everything you are doing in India here. It will pay you more. You can empower and employ more people and Nigeria will be happy with you.”
It is on record that Simba Group, founded in Nigeria in 1988, is a conglomerate with operations across Nigeria’s most dynamic economic sectors. The Group businesses operate in sectors like agriculture, alternative energy, backup power supply systems, networking and data transmission, ICT infrastructure development, and commercial vehicles sales and servicing. Simba has done business for more than 30 years in Nigeria.
