3,000 Catholic group members in Calabar for congress
No fewer than 3,000 members of Divine Mercy Devotion Nigeria, a group under the Catholic Church nationwide are expected to gather in Calabar for a four-day national congress.
The national promoter of the group, Rev. Martins Uzoukwu, disclosed this at a news conference in Calabar on Wednesday.

He said the Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Mr Obonogemem Ekpo, would be the guest speaker, at the national congress, which would start December 5 and end on December 8.
The theme of the Congress is: “Divine Mercy: The Real Source of Hope for Nigeria.”
According to him, the congress will be used by catholic faithful to intercede for Nigeria’s growth and development.
“The four-day event will also deepen the faith of the people and bring conversion to the land. Catholics in particular will divine mercy,” Uzoukwu said.
The Arch. Bishop of Calabar diocese, Rev. Joseph Ekuwem, said the congress would bring blessings to Calabar beyond religion line.
