Snooker Fest “ll strengthen sports, creative, tourism – Organisers

Emmanuel Agbaeze, Creative Director at 36 Media, organisers of the 2023 Snooker Fest, on Friday in Lagos said that the event would strengthen the sports, creative and tourism industries.

Agbaeze said the maiden event produced in partnership with Pesoheti Sports and Hot Fm Lagos would hold on Nov. 4 at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island.

He noted that the billiard community in Nigeria had continued to grow by the day which is  evident in the massive participation in almost every local and standard bar across the nation.

He said that the sport was specifically chosen due to its capability of connecting people from different walks of life.

“We’re bringing pool and entertainment together, thereby strengthening the sport, creative and tourism industries.

“We are creating a platform where pool players, food and party lovers connect, play, compete to win prizes and enjoy great performances from some of Nigeria’s finest DJs, hype men and musicians.

“The Snooker Fest is bringing together the young and old to build a strong positive connection that would metamorphose into a force that would contribute greatly to the development of the creative industry,” he said.

He added that the youth  were  the most vibrant force in any economy and it is important to keep them engaged, focused and away from negativity.

“An idle mind they say is the devil’s workshop. Snooker Fest intends to channel the power of the youth to something more positive through billiards and meaningful connections.

“It is a fact that the youth are doing great in the entertainment industry and Snooker Fest intends to key into this opportunity to create a platform that will boost the sport and the creative industries,” he said.
