Ramadan: Assemblyman distributes food items, cash to constituents

 

Nasarawa State Assemblyman Abdulaziz  Danladi has distributed food items and undisclosed cash to his constituents in the spirit of Ramadan.
Danladi (APC-Keffi East) at the Nasarawa House of Assembly, distributed the items on Wednesday in Keffi.
He said the measure was to cushion the economic pangs of the beneficiaries during the fasting period.
He explained that the gesture was borne out of his desire to improve on the standard of living of his constituents, especially the Muslim community at Ramadan.
Danladi, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Works, however urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items.
The distributed items included 100 bags of 50kg of rice, 100 bags of 25kg of rice, 150 bags of 10kg of rice, 50 packs of milk, 100 packs of King Granite Oil, 50 packs of Golden penny and 50 packs of sugar, as well as undisclosed cash.
According to him, the items are meant to support Muslims during this holy month of Ramadan.
“It is my continued desire and gesture to always put smiles on your faces and that of your family members.
“I want to use this medium to assure you and other people of my constituency of continued determination to initiate good policies and programmes that will have direct bearing on your lives and that of other people in my constituency,” he said.
“I want to assure you of my continued determination to represent you well at all times and also key into good policies and programmes that will have direct bearing on your lives and the lives of others positively,” he added.
He called on his constituents and other residents of the state to continue to give their maximum support to Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
The assemblyman also called on Nigerians to live in peace, be law abiding and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.
He called on Muslims and other Nigerians to use the period of the Ramadan to pray for the nation’s unity, peace, progress and development.
He noted that no society would achieve meaningful progress and development without unity and peace, hence the need of his call in that direction.
Some of the beneficiaries, who responded, appreciated the lawmaker for the gesture and called for its sustenance.
They assured him of their loyalty and support to succeed at all times.
The beneficiaries prayed and wished Danladi well in his political career.
