The police in Lagos have confirmed that music promoter, Balogun Eletu, aka ‘Sam Larry” was in custody and currently assisting with the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of 27-year-old singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, a.k.a Mohbad.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known on his verified Twitter handle@BenHundeyin.

Hundeyin did not disclose whether  Sam Larry was arrested or he turned himself in.

”He is currently assisting with ongoing investigation,” the image-maker said.

BRANDPOWER reports that Mohbad died on Sept. 12 and was buried on Sept. 13, but was exhumed on Sept 21 for autopsy.

Many fans and celebrities in some states took to the streets in protests following Mohbad’s death.

They demanded that justice be done as they suspected that there was more to Mohbad’s death than met the eye.

The Punch reports that a police source who craved not to be mentioned as he was not authorised to speak on the matter said he was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Thursday evening.

He said, “Sam Larry was arrested at the airport after he arrived from Kenya. Our officers arrested him at the airport and he was immediately taken to the state police headquarters for questioning.”

The police, last week, also confirmed that pathologists have concluded the autopsy conducted on Mohbad, while the police await the result.

Hundeyin said, “Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting results.” This development followed the exhumation of Mohbad’s corpse by a combined team of the Nigeria Police Force and health officials.

The police had also arrested the nurse who reportedly injected the deceased singer before his demise on Tuesday, September 12.
