Kachikwu Heads OPEC For Two Days, Enters World Record

iibeDr Ibe Kachikwu, the State Minister of  Petroleum’s name has entered the Guinness Book of Records. Kachikwu, who recently replaced the cancer-stricken Diezani Allison-Madueke as the president of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), was replaced barely three days after the new development took effect, thus becoming the shortest-serving president of the organisation.

Though the minister of state for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu has been ousted as OPEC president.

National Helm reports that during the 168th ordinary meeting of the organisation in Vienna, Austria, a fresh election was conducted and Mohammed Al Sada was elected to succeed Kachikwu as the president.

Thus, Kachikwu was the president of the international body for only two days, a record which may have landed his name in the world book of records.
