Hong Kong distributes anti-epidemic medical supplies from mainland China

 

An official said that  most of the anti-epidemic medical supplies from the mainland had arrived in Hong Kong and have been distributed to frontline personnel and citizens in need.

A spokesperson for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said on Friday.

According to him over 30 types of medical supplies of testing, personal protection, disinfection, medication and equipment were procured with the coordination of the central government.

He said that the supplies include 260 million rapid antigen test kits, over 450 million N95/KN95/surgical/medical masks, around 200 million sets of personal protective equipment, and 1.6 million pulse oximeters.

The HKSAR government thanked the central government for donating 600,000 boxes of anti-epidemic proprietary Chinese medicines.

All supplies have been distributed through the Food and Health Bureau to residents subject to “restriction-testing declarations,’’ and through the Hospital Authority to confirmed patients in isolation facilities and those receiving treatment at 18 Chinese medicine clinics.

On Friday, Hong Kong registered 101 new COVID-19 cases by nucleic acid tests, and 142 additional cases through self-reported rapid antigen tests, official data had showed.
