FACT CHECK: Trending video Not Sadiya Farouq’s ‘Pre-wedding’ Party With President Buhari

Reports from TheCable indicate that a video being circulated as the pre-wedding party of Sadiya Umar Farouq to President Muhammadu Buhari has been found to be a clip from a party organised for her by her family and friends to celebrate her appointment as a federal minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development.

The online medium has confirmed that the video was recorded on September 14 when her family and friends held the party to celebrate her appointment into President Buhari’s cabinet while Farouq was commissioned as the head of the new ministry on August 21.

She had tweeted about the event on September 15, according to a fact check by The Cable thus:

There has been a wild rumour of the minister supposedly getting married to Buhari on Friday.
