Doballi, GetBundi partner to train 10,000 African graduates on virtual assistance jobs
The free training is open to all Africans aged 20 to 45
Doballi, a Dubai-based firm, will train 10,000 graduates across Africa to support global business process outsourcing (BPO).
The trainees are expected to be equipped with the knowledge to work with multinational companies while living in their respective countries.
The knowledge will empower them with the skills to serve as virtual assistants for the foreign-based firms, offering them tremendous opportunities to earn foreign currencies.
BRANDECONOMY reports that Doballi, a Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC)member, is partnering with GetBundi Education Technology, a Nigeria-based edtech platform, for the exercise.
“The opportunities in virtual administrative roles are massive and Africa, with a young, dynamic, and well-educated population, if given the right training, will be highly beneficial to the global business community,” a statement by Osita Oparaugo, Founder of Doballi, said in Lagos on Tuesday.
He said that the virtual assistance tasks were hitherto handled chiefly by Indians and some youths in the Philippines.
“We want African youths to explore these opportunities and make a living for themselves,” he said.
According to Oparaugo, the free training is open to all Africans aged 20 to 45.
“Registration closes on March 31, 2025. Prospective candidates must be university graduates, possess a laptop or desktop, and no prior technical skills are necessary to apply
“The comprehensive eight-week training programme will begin on April 11, 2025, and is free for all participants.
“This initiative comes in response to the increasing need for Virtual Assistants (VAs) in today’s business landscape, where efficiency and productivity are paramount.
“This collaboration aims to equip African talents with the necessary skills to excel in this rapidly growing field,” he said.
Virtual assistants are skilled professionals who provide remote support in various fields leveraging technology to deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions.
“They help small business owners, entrepreneurs, or corporate executives to focus on strategic tasks while handling time-consuming activities.
“In today’s business landscape, virtual assistants work across numerous fields, from Customer Service to Social Media Management and Bookkeeping.
“Others handle Project Management, Content Creation, Research, Calendar Management, Administrative Assistance, Social Media Marketing, E-commerce, Event Management, Graphic Design, Data Entry, and many more,” the statement added.
“The training partnership is in line with Doballi’s core objective of collaborating with organisations, educational institutions, and governments to support African talent development and align skills with market demands.
“It will see Doballi and GetBundi equip these 10,000 trainees with the right skills to function effectively as virtual assistants, helping businesses focus on growth,” the statement said
It quoted Ms Maxine Gordon, Director of International Partnerships at Doballi, as highlighting the vast potential of virtual assistants in today’s landscape.

She highlighted and commended the organisation’s trust in GetBundi to spearhead the training initiative.
Ijei emphasised that the training is open to all Africans aged 20 to 45, and registration will close on March 31.
She also affirmed that candidates must be university graduates with laptops or desktops and wouldn’t need prior technical skills to apply.
