The Cyber Protection Corps of Nigeria (CPCN) has warned cyber fraudsters to desist from criminal acts, saying the corps is battle-ready to fish them out and hand them over to appropriate authorities for prosecution.
Mr Olarenwaju Longe, the Director of the Corps in the South-West, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Akure.
He said that anyone who had been duped or shortchanged on internet or during cyber transactions should report to the corps office at the Onyeragbulem Market, Akure.

“We will look into it, investigate, get the culprits and hand them over to the police or the EFCC depending on gravity of the offence.
“If it is something we can resolve, maybe transferring to somebody somewhere and you cannot get your goods or service promised, we will resolve it by talking to the person.
“If the person refuses, we will take the matter up and get him.

“This organisation is out to assist individuals by ensuring that they are not shortchanged or being cheated of their hard earned money.
“But people must come out, talk and report to us and it is totally free,” he stated.
Longe described the corps as foot soldiers of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), adding that the corps could also handle cyber bullying, cyber hacking, identity theft, software piracy and others.
He said that the corps was ready to collaborate with film producers in curbing piracy which had affected the industry greatly.
