Cook who puts employers to sleep and steals valuables nabbed
The Police Command in Lagos State has arrested a cook, Wilfred Amoussou, who allegedly sedated his employers and robbed them of their valuables.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known on Thursday on his verified Twitter handle.
He said that the suspect specialised in drugging and escaping with his bosses’ property.
“Amoussou would take up a job as a cook or chef and heavily sedate his employers with Benzodiazepines and steal their valuables.
“He has done this to different victims over the years in Ikoyi, Banana Island and Parkview.
“Some of his past victims have come forward to identify him,” the police spokesperson said.
He urged employers who were victims of the suspect to visit the Ikoyi Police Division.
There are growing cases of domestic workers stealing valuables, inflicting harm and sometimes causing the deaths of their employers in Lagos.
In 2018, the Ondo State Police Command arrested the cook who allegedly killed his boss, Chief Opeyemi Bademosi, the Chief Executive Officer, Credit Switch Limited.
The Punch reports that the cook, Sunday Anani, a Togolese, had stabbed his boss with a knife in his (Bademosi’s) residence on Onikoyi Lane, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, on Wednesday, three days after he was employed.
The 22-year-old suspect fled home with some valuables belonging to his boss after committing the crime.
