Buhari Submits Last Batch Of 16 Ministerial Nominees To Senate

GK9A1069President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, October 12, sent the second batch of Ministerial nominees to the Senate President Bukola Saraki, ahead of tuesday’s screening and confirmation of the first batch. The final names were received by Senate President Bukola Saraki in his office and were brought by President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, and Senior Special Assistant for the National Assembly (House), Kawu Sumaila.

It was previously reported that the National Assembly would not begin its approval or vetting process until President Buhari presented them with all nominees.

According to THISDAY sources, the nominees that might have made the new list include Dr. Okechukwu Enyinna Enelamah (Abia State), Mr. James Ocholi (Kogi State), Professor Isaac Adewole (Osun State), Professor Claudis Omoleye Daramola (Ondo State), Hon. Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim (Yobe State), and Alhaji Adamu Adamu.

Others on the list are Professor Anthony Anwuka (Imo State), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri (Bayelsa State), Brig.-Gen. Dan Ali (rtd), and Hajia Aisha Abubakar.

Confirming the submission of the new list, Saraki’s spokesperson, Mr. Yusuph Olaniyonu, said the names were submitted by the president’s Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abba Kyari, Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, and his counterpart in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulrahman Kawu, at about 1.30 pm monday.
