Saraki, Akpabio, Keyamo, 40 others make Buhari’s ministerial list

President Muhammadu Buhari has finally sent the list of his ministerial nominees to the National Assembly.

According to reports, the ministerial list was sent to the Nigerian Senate on Monday evening via Executive Communication, and it is expected to be read on the floor of the Senate today.

Some of the names on the list include former Akwa Ibom State governor, Godswill Akpabio, former Benue State governor, George Akume, Buhari campaign spokesperson, Festus Keyamo, SAN.

Others on the list were former governor of Ekiti State, Niyi Adebayo, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Senator Olutayo Alasoadura, immediate past governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola,  Senator Adeleke Mamora, and former transport minister, Rotimi Amaechi.

The Nigerian Senate had earlier announced it would be proceeding on a two-month recess on Thursday. This means the ministerial nominees are expected to be screened before the commencement of the legislative recess.

With the ministerial list increased from 36 ministers during Buhari first term to 42 this term, it is believed that each state, as well as each geopolitical zone, will have a representative.
