32-Year-Old Ogundoyin Emerges Speaker Of Oyo Assembly

Honourable Debo Ogundoyin has emerged as the Speaker of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly.

The 32-year-old lawmaker, representing Ibarapa East constituency was elected unopposed with the unanimous voice vote of the 32-member assembly on Monday.

The second-term lawmaker who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was elected shortly after the state governor, Seyi Makinde inaugurated the Assembly.

Honourable Mohammed Fadeyi from Ona Ara Constituency was elected Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.

The deputy speaker is also a member of the PDP.

In his latest tweet, the state Governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde congratulated the new speaker and deputy speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly, wishing them a successful tenure.

The governor, who further expressed the readiness of his administration to respect the autonomy of the legislature, implored the newly-sworn-in lawmakers to work collaboratively with the executive arm of government, putting the interest of the good people of Oyo state who elected them, first.
