Transferbee, a UK-based financial services provider has launched a service aimed at helping residents in the UK send money to their relatives in Nigeria.
The service which the company announced kicked off on Monday November 12 is expected to be a cheaper alternative to pre-existing money transfer service platforms and is expected to operate in a manner whereby money is transferred directly to a mobile phone user in Nigeria through a growing mobile money environment within 24 hours of the inception of the transaction.
The recipient is expected to redeem the money sent to him through any of the thousands of cash-out points around the country, thereby sparing prospective customers of the hassle that comes with going to banks to receive monies sent to them by relatives resident in the UK.
Transferbee is working with a couple of mobile money service providers in Nigeria, namely Cellulant Wallet and Teasy Mobile Money and the company is planning to increase the collaboration with a number of other mobile money companies in a not-too distant future.
