The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has cancelled the scheduled maintenance on its 33kV feeder line in Enugu, which was earlier announced by MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL).
In a statement issued in Enugu on Thursday, the Head of Corporate Communications at MEDL, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, confirmed that the planned exercise had been called off due to unforeseen technical constraints.
“The 33kV feeders earlier scheduled for outage on a rotational basis — including Kingsway Lines 1 and 2, Emene Industrial Lines 1 and 2, Thinkers Corner Line, Trans-Ekulu Line, Ugwuogo Line, and Ituku Ozalla Line — will no longer go offline as planned,” Ezeh said.
He added that a new schedule for the maintenance operation will be announced once confirmed by TCN.
Ezeh apologised for any inconvenience caused by the sudden change and appealed for the understanding and patience of customers in the affected areas.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused by this adjustment and appreciate our customers’ cooperation as we continue working to improve service reliability,” he added.
The maintenance, which was originally planned for October 22 to 31, would have caused temporary daytime outages across parts of Enugu metropolis, Trans-Ekulu, Emene, and surrounding communities.
