Makama explained that the two-day management retreat, scheduled for February 7, would focus on reviewing the authority’s performance in 2024 and charting a new course for 2025.

“The discussions at the retreat will centre on Key Performance Indicators (KPI), the 2024 performance review, and the outlook for 2025.

“We will also assess our revenue performance for 2024, set targets for 2025, and focus on organisational effectiveness and communication,” he stated.

He said the retreat, to be held at the NIWA Conference Hall in Lokoja, would feature the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, as the Special Guest of Honour.

He said NIWA’s Managing Director, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, would host the event.

Makama also recalled that during the 2024 Performance Bond signing retreat in Lokoja, the MD emphasised the retreat’s goal of developing a working template.

He said the template would meet the aspirations of President Bola Tinubu for Inland Waterways through the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

He added that the 2025 retreat would see the participation of the management team and all Area Managers.
