FIFA Approves 3 Presidential Candidates To Rival Blatter
Three other candidates have been cleared to rival incumbent FIFA president Sepp Blatter in the coming FIFA election slated for May 29 in Zurich.
Blatter, who has been in the post since 1998, is opposed by Dutch federation president Michael van Praag, Jordanian Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, a Fifa vice-president, and Portuguese football great and former Ballon d’Or winner Luis Figo.
FIFA says its election oversight panel validated the proposed candidacies of four-term president Sepp Blatter and his three rivals.
209 FIFA member federations will vote in the election.
