Wizkid sets record as first African to hit 8 million montly listeners on Spotify

Nigerian Starboy, Wizkid, has achieved a ‘feat of the firsts’ by becoming the first African to hit eight million monthly listeners on Spotify.

This comes after the Starboy featured on ‘Like’ by Kojo Funds.

Few weeks ago, the record was held by Congolese rapper and singer, Maitre Gims, who had seven million monthly listeners, with Wizkid behind with only 6.9 million monthly listeners on the platform.

Spotify is a Swedish media-services provider whose primary business is its audio streaming platform that provides DRM-protected music and podcasts from record labels and media companies.
