A woman is reported to have been beheaded at a garden in north London.
One man was arrested at the scene and is being held in custody by police while an investigation is carried out.
The Met Police have confirmed the woman’s death but have not yet released details of how it happened.
Press Association reports that she was found beheaded in the back garden. There had been reports on social media of a man with a machete in the area.
In a statement, Scotland Yard said police were called to the address in Edmonton at 1.07pm after a report of a stabbing.
On arrival, officers found a woman collapsed in the garden. Her body remains at the scene.
“At this very early stage we are not in a position to give further details,” the statement from the Metropolitan Police said.
