Motorist plying Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has been adviced by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to take alternative routes as two trucks have broken down on the long bridge causing serious gridlock.
The Sector Commander, FRSC in Ogun State, Mr Clement Oladele, disclosed this on Wednessday in Abeokuta.
He said that the two trucks broke down around 5.00 a.m on Wednesday morning on the long bridge close to Lagos.
“Two trucks broke down on the long bridge in Lagos around 5.00 a.m. this morning causing gridlock which the FRSC is removing and sorting the gridlock.
“There is another truck blocking a section of Sagamu interchange, but we are on ground to remove and also just few minutes ago a tanker fell at Ogere, we have contracted the Fire Service,” he said.
In order to beat the traffic, PM News reports that Oladele has adviced motorist to take the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and Ikorodu Road.
The sector commander said that combined teams of FRSC, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) and Lagos Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) were on ground to make sure the situation is under control.
