NEW ADAMAWA STATE GOVERNOR, NGILARI SACKS POLITICAL APPOINTEES

Ngilari-New

The new Governor of Adamawa State, Bala Ngilari  who was sworn in on Wednesday October 8, has reportedly dissolved the State Executive Council and sacked all political appointees in the state with immediate effect.

Yesterday, October 9, barely 24 hours after the governor assumed office, he announced the dissolution and the mass sack. The statement, however, said that heads of statutory commissions were not affected by the dissolution.

Ngilari, has also appointed Mr. Chubado Tijjani as his Chief of Staff.

All officials who were relieved of their duties were asked to hand over all documents to their permanent secretaries and return all government property in their possession.

The affected appointees were barely 3 months in office as they were appointed by the former acting governor, Ahmadu Finitri.

Ngilari, who served as deputy to removed Governor  Murtala Nyako, was ousted after the governor was impeached and he supposedly resigned.

However, he was sworn into office after a Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, declared his purported resignation  invalid, null and void.
