Masters Energy Appoints New MD/CEO as Ucheh Ogah steps aside

Following the resignation of Dr Uche Oga as the President of Masters Energy Group, the Board of the oil and gas company has constituted a new team to spearhead its operations.

Ogah resigned from his position after the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration submitted his name alongside 42 others to the Nigerian Senate as ministerial nominees. He has since been screened and confirmed as a Minister-designate by the Senate.

As part of the move to reposition the company, Masters Energy has appointed Patience Dappa as its Acting Group Managing Director/CEO.

Other members of the Group’s Management are the Executive Vice Chairman, Vincent U. K. Ajala, Group Executive Director, Ngozi Sabina Ogah, Vice President/ Group Executive Director (Abuja), Chukwuemeka Ogah, Executive Directors, Felix Eribo, Ogbonnaya Onu and Ugochukwu Nwofor.

The new Acting MD, Dappa has more than 15 years experience in the legal profession. She oversaw the company’s legal affairs as General Counsel and Secretary. Dappa is the Principal Partner in Pat Dappa & Associate, a reputable firm of Solicitors and Advocates.

Before forming Pat Dappa and Associates, Dappa was an Attorney with Alegeh & Associates, specializing in Property, Company Law and Litigation. Before joining Alegeh & Associates, she was with T & A Management Consultants as Company Secretary and Legal Adviser.

She was involved in proofreading the Laws of Delta State in 2005. She is an Arbitrator (ACIArb), a member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), International Bar Association and Nigeria Bar Association.

Dappa holds a Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) from the University of Calabar, Masters Degrees in Law (LLM) and in Humanitarian Law and Refugee Studies (MHRS) respectively from the University of Lagos.

Dappa spearheaded the Legal /Corporate Affairs of the company until her appointment as the Group Chief Operating Officer of the Group.
