According to reports from Nigerian Bulletin, Former Enyimba skipper Romanus Orjinta has passed away in the city of Enugu at the age of 33.
Orjinta was said to have been found dead in his home in “coal city” on New Year’s Day, with the cause of his death yet to be ascertained.
Some reports claim that he had been dead, days before January 1st, and that it was his neighbours who out of suspicion noticed that he had not been seen for some time.
Orjinta lifted the first Champions League title won by Enyimba in 2003 after seeing off Egyptian side, Ismaili FC.
He sojourned abroad and played for to Lillestrøm SK in Norway, before returning to Nigeria to play for Heartland.
