Taraba State: Government Imposes Curfew on State Capital
Taraba state government has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on the capital city of the state, Jalingo.
The Chief Press Secretary to the state Acting Governor, Hassan Mijinyawa in a statement, indicated that the curfew would be observed from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am, with immediate effect.
According to Mijinyawa, the decision was taken to curb the possible breach of peace and stability in the state capital, following the announcement of the results of the gubernatorial election.
The state government advised citizens to adhere strictly to the directive and remain law abiding.
However, those on essential services are exempted from observing the curfew according to the statement.
