Still On #JailTheGay
I was irrepressibly ecstatic when I learnt that President Goodluck Jonathan signed a bill on Monday that criminalises same-sex relationships. The bill, which contains penalties of up to 14 years in prison and bans gay marriage, same-sex “amorous relationships” and membership of gay rights groups, was passed by the national assembly in May 2013.
Jonathan was stalling over signing the bill into law because of the pressure that the West, the international community and pro LGTB groups have brought to bear on the Nigerian President.
An important part of the newly passed law states that:”Any person who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies and organisations or directly or indirectly makes public show of same-sex amorous relationship in Nigeria commits an offence and shall each be liable on conviction to a term of 10 years in prison.”
I find it so irksome that human beings, in the name of liberalism and political correctness, have stooped so low to legalize aberrant behaviours as sodomy. Perhaps alarm bells should start ringing when considering the fact that it was gays that fuelled the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the early 80s.
Our traditions contain the genetic code of our identity, who we are. They are the pillars on which our cultural identity is built. Pull it down and we become extinct, faceless humanoids in a vast desert. It is wrong if we allow it to be tampered with by progressives. Allowing that to happen would spell the end of our identity and existence.
It is no secret that the system of government foisted on us by the West, democracy has not been effective in allowing us to fully express ourselves and to allow our civilization to flourish at its own pace. It should be a lesson to us that not all western influences are beneficial.
Under existing Nigerian federal law, sodomy is punishable by jail, but this bill legislates for a much broader crackdown on homosexual people, who live a largely underground existence.
Beside the threat to our cultural identity, it is even morally reprehensible to think that two people of the same gender would desire each other; it goes against the course of nature. No wonder most people who are fierce proponents of this warped way of life often deny the veracity of the Bible.
They either twist glaring truths in the Bible about gays or they deny it outright. Any surprise that the Pope has come out to give tacit support to LGBT people? Or in the fact that the Church of England (is that still a Church?!) has gone ahead to discard the Bible in order to give legitimacy to their aberrant behavior?
If the West love the gays so much and are keenly interested about the plight and welfare of gays and their ilk, they should declare their countries a safe haven for them. Free visa to the West if you are gay. They can help us depopulate our country of these annoying nuisances.
I laugh when I listen to the lame and watered down arguments of liberals and progressives that the Government should attend to more important state issues rather than bothering themselves about what two consenting adults do in their closet. It is important to remind them this issue is part of our social life, which is inexorably tied to the socio-economic pulse of the nation.
LGBT and their supporters should please take note: we are officially anti-gay. It is now state policy. Deal with it. If you can’t stand the heat, leave the kitchen.
POSER:
Can one with a better argument for gays please present it?
