Siasia drops 6 NPFL Players from Nigeria Camp

As Nigeria intensifies preparation for next week’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt, coach Samson Siasia has axed six players from the Super Eagles camp in Abuja.

The causalities are Prince Aggrey, Chris Madaki, Hassan Ya’u, Ezekiel Bassey, Oke Ogagotewho and Bright Onyedikachi for not meeting up to the required standard.

“I have asked them to go because they did not measure up to the standard we want,” said Siasia.

“They have not shown enough verve to be in the Super Eagles, so we have asked them to go back to their respective clubs and work harder to be recalled next time.

“Those that are left must work harder to remain with the team. National team’s demands are greater than club’s, so if you are invited to the Super Eagles, we expect to see the best of everyone.

“Those sent packing could be recalled next time if they continue to improve in their clubs, but for now, they have fallen short of our expectation.”

More players will be shown the exit door as the country hopes to raise a formidable team against the Pharaohs in the make or break qualifier for Gabon 2017.
