Just days after releasing reoprts about data price increament starting from December 1, Authorities of the Nigerian Communications Commission NCC has released an official statement to suspend its plan to increase data tariff on all telecommunication networks with effect from tomorrow December 1st.
A statement by the commission says the suspension is to allow for further consultation by all stakeholders.
The new policy, NCC said in its directive to the operators as exclusively reported by The Cable news media, is to allow the “small operators” acquire market share and operate profitably.
There has been a public outright since the commission announced plans to direct telecommunication networks to increase their data tariffs.
