The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) until midnight of November 11, 2025, following reports of network disruptions affecting the ongoing mobilisation process.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Caroline Embu, Director of Information and Public Relations at NYSC, explained that the decision was taken to give all eligible PCMs additional time to complete their registration without disruption.
“The management regrets the inconvenience this delay may have caused our valued prospective corps members. We assure all that our technical team is working round the clock to resolve the network issues and ensure a seamless registration process,” Embu stated.
Network Challenges and Growing Frustration Among PCMs
Across social media platforms and NYSC support groups, many prospective corps members voiced frustration over what they described as persistent network failures, delayed verification, and system timeouts during registration.
Several users on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook reported being unable to upload documents or make final submissions, despite multiple attempts.
“I’ve been trying to register since Monday, but the portal keeps logging me out after every step,” lamented a graduate from the University of Benin.
Another user added, “Extending the deadline is good, but NYSC should also improve the speed and reliability of their system.”
Digital analysts have attributed the challenges to server overload, a common issue when thousands of users attempt to access a single platform simultaneously, especially during peak registration periods.
Stakeholders Urge Long-Term Digital Solutions
Education and youth policy experts welcomed the extension but called for stronger ICT infrastructure within NYSC to prevent recurring issues.
Dr. Funke Adeyemi, a youth development consultant, noted that the Corps’ digitisation drive must be matched with server redundancy, real-time user support, and better data management.
“The NYSC portal is handling one of the largest youth data systems in Nigeria. Strengthening its backend capacity is essential not just for registration but also for safety, analytics, and transparency,” she said.
Meanwhile, student union leaders and parents urged the federal government to support NYSC with modern digital infrastructure to ease future mobilisations.

According to NYSC, the decision to extend the NYSC 2025 registration window was part of its broader commitment to fairness, inclusion, and efficiency in national service mobilisation.
The Corps recently upgraded its biometric enrolment platform and introduced real-time identity verification to curb impersonation and double registration.
Officials also reiterated that camp opening dates remain unchanged, advising PCMs to complete their registration as early as possible to avoid last-minute congestion.
