Leading consumer goods producer Procter and Gamble (P&G, has appointed Mr George Nasser as the new MD of its Nigerian subsidiary, following the resignation of Manoj Kumar.
Prior to his appointment, Nasser was the country manager for Ukraine, with earlier roles including country manager of North Africa & Levant as well as Saudi and Yemen.
“I am deeply honoured by the opportunity to lead P&G’s operations in Nigeria,” Nasser told journalists. P&G produces top branded consumables in Nigeria including Ariel detergent, Pampers, Always pad and Oral B toothpaste.
Commenting on the appointment, outgoing MD Kumar said: “George is a strong leader with a passion for the company and deep understanding of the business. His track record of strategic leadership, combined with his open-minded approach to problem solving, has earned him the respect of employees, customers and partners worldwide.”
The company recently embarked on a West African expansive push, with Nigeria as the production hub for the region. It announced investments in a world class baby care manufacturing unit, located Ogun State, Western Nigeria.
