The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for embarking on massive infrastructure across the state.
The lawmakers spefically hailed the governor for the construction and upgrading of rural roads in the state.
They noted that the effort would boost the agricultural and socio-economic development of rural communities and the state at large.
Alhaji Mohammed Okpoku, the Chairman, House Committee on NASIEC, Multilateral and Community Development, made the commendation when he led other members of the committee to inspect 12km Ribi/Jangwa road in Awe Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.
Okpoko, who is the member representing Udege/Loko Constituency, said that the inspection was to assess the level of work done with the view of correcting any abnormality, if discovered.
“We are here on an assessment visit in order to see things for ourselves with the view of correcting any deviation, if discovered.
“The construction or the grading of the road is okay, the bridges construction are okay but a lot need to be done on the lateral, compactment and stone pitching.
“As the importance of road construction to societal development could not be overemphasised.
“Apart from linking communities, boosting agriculture, revenue base and the socio-economic activities of our people.
“It will also improve on the general standard of living of our people,” he said.
The lawmaker appreciated Sule for being up and doing in developing the state through road constructions and other infrastructure across the state.

He assured of the committee’s readiness to continue to embark on inspection visit to ensure that right things were done in the overall interest of the state.
The Director General, Nasarawa State Bureau for Rural Development, Alhaji Mustapha Yahuza, also lauded Sule for providing infrastucture and basic social amenities across the state.
He said that the road would be completed in the next three weeks.
Mr Alfred Ajagbe of Neuweg Construction Ltd, the contractor handling the project, assured that standard work would be done to ensure its durability.
He also reassured that the road would be ready in the next three weeks.
Earlier, the committee paid homage to Sarkin Ribi, Alhaji Ibrahim Salihu, where the third class taditional ruler lauded the assembly for its proactiveness in oversight and other legislative activities, calling for its sustenance.
