Luis Suarez Granted Permission to Train With Barcelona

Barcelona striker, Luis Suarez will participate in his first training with his new club after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled that the Uruguayan international would be allowed to train with the team and participate in friendlies.

In an announcement on Thursday afternoon, CAS ruled that Suarez would be allowed to train and play in friendlies, such as the club’s upcoming Gamper Trophy game against Club Leon, but upheld FIFA’s four-month ban for competitive matches, meaning the player will miss eight La Liga matches and three Champions League matches.

Following the ruling, Barcelona released a statement, stating that Suarez would participate in his first training session since finalizing his 85 million euro transfer from Liverpool last month and would be presented to the media ahead of the Gamper Trophy match.
