It’s nobody’s business if i take money from artistes- Daddy Freeze

Daddy Freeze has says it is nobody’s business if he takes money from artistes.

The popular veteran On-Air Personality made this known via his twitter and Instagram accounts on Sunday.

This came after a twitter user with the username @AfroVII alleged that the OAP charges a hundred thousand naira from artistes to play their music on radio.

Freeze was charging mandem over 100k to play their music. Lol. And radio is rigged. They play only ten songs in rotation so up and coming acts are screwed from the get go. Kai.

Replying to his tweet, Freeze explained he doesn’t collect money to play artists’ songs but only for consultation.

I owe nobody an answer, but I’ll give you one nonetheless. I have 23 years of radio experience if I choose to charge a fee (which I should), hows that anybody’s business? I preach the gospel for free, everything else I charge for, in full, upfront. ‪By the way, I don’t charge for radio AirPlay, but for artiste consultancy (a bracket under which I can file literally anything I wish). Before you come for OAPs is your song nice? Does it make sense? Would it add value to my show? A minute of my time is in six figures, why shouldn’t it be‬? ~FRZ.

Using Kizz Daniel’s new song, ‘Fvck you’ as an example, Freeze stated in a post on his instagram page, stressing that he purchased the song because it is good music and will not charge artists like Kizz for such music.

Earlier this week I put up a post showing that I paid N150 of my hard earned money to buy @iamkizzdaniel song Fvck you.

Not only did I buy the song, it’s also on constant rotation, do you know why? Because the song is awesome.

This clearly shows that I don’t need anyone’s money to play their music, I’ll even go out of my way to pay my hard earned money to buy good music.

There is no major artiste that did not pass through my hands as an upcoming artiste and none paid me for promotion. This includes the likes of Dbanj, Davido, Wizkid, Jazzy etc.

I won’t listen to or promote nonsense just to be politically correct, neither would I sit down with mediocre artistes without charging for it. ~FRZ
