Interswitch Records $2.4billion Electronic Transactions in 2014
Popular electronic payment platform Interswitch recorded significant growth in Nigerian transactions in 2014 with over $2.4 billion payment.
Speaking during an event to mark the integration of its multi-channel payment platform Quickteller, with Visa, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Interswitch, Mitchell Elegbe, revealed that the success of Interswitch is linked to the payment channels that it introduced into Nigeria, which were before nonexistence.
Elegbe said Quickteller has more than three billion active users in Nigeria saying that with the integration all kind of payment can now be made in Nigeria and abroad using the Visa Card.
According to him, Interswitch had a very ambitious programme especially with its expansion across Africa adding that its first target was East Africa where it acquired a majority stake in a leading payment process in the region.
He added that with the integration, Interswitch is confident of making every payment system in the country easier saying that it will stop at nothing in extending that proposition to its esteem customers.
